  • Elena Monster here! First introduced to Pentaphobe via the Rachel Brice website, then again on her DVD and AGAIN in Sabrina (Firefox's) class.

    ADDICTED. <3
    • Hi All!

My name is Ve and I only found this tribe tonight!!

I've owned "A Tribal Met" for a few weeks now and LOVE IT!! I listen to it through earphones all the time at work in an attempt to nail it down, rendering it predictable. There are WAY too many layers for that to happen!! I'll have to work with what moves me at the time and let go of the rest...FOR NOW! Hehehehe

I would have to agree with you when you say Pentaphobe inspires. I usually have to work on pieces, ensuring I move smoothly from one combination to another. This isn't an issue with Pentaphobe!!

      YEAH!!!

Kelli, congrats on producing such wonderful music!

Keep up the good work, Corrie!!

      Ve : )
  • Hey.. got into pphobe a couple of years ago when i listened to his first (very weird) album 'Brain Flux Squirt Fish'..

I only found out later that i'd known him for ages under various different names..

    very cool guy, inspiring, etc..

oh, and i found this tribe while trawling his homepage for bugs. ;)

Hi my name is Amber and I am a big nerd. I think Keili is cute so I joined. I kid! well of course he is a dollface but the music rocks my pantalones.
    • Can "pantalones" be the word of the year??? That soo rocks!

If I didn't do it before, I'm Tracey in Dallas/Ft. Worth (where it's 105 degrees today, sheesh!)..

I freaking LOVE this CD! My only problem is trying to decide WHICH track to dance to first!!!!

I love most music forms, right now I listen mainly to trance/techno and chill out. I might like Rap better if it wasn't about killing people like me.

      ~winks~

      HUGS to everyone!
      • Alright Corrie, I'm finally here....

Hello to Everyone of this LoVErly tribe....

My name is Kelsey, and I dance with the wonderful group of ladies, Kashmir....

My favorite songs on the cd are #4 and #6. I don't know the names... just the numbers....

        SMOOCHES!
  • Okay, I think I've lurked long enough...

Hi, my name is Chia, and I'm a bellydancer.

    Among other things.

I still haven't danced to Miss Moody (in public) but I will. Oh, yes, I will. And So Do Cerebral. And... And... Yep, that too. However, my b/f did use Kronenspruche 2D for a very creepy bit in our stage show in San Francisco this year, which I'll be happy to describe further if anyone's interested.
  • Hi Corrie et all,

Just realised that while I had joined up awhile ago...I had rudely neglected to intro myself.

Found Pentaphobe via RB...went to the Maui Intensive....she commented that she loved hearing me talk cos my accent made her think of Keili which was heartrendingly gorgeous.

I love the CD and adore dancing, trancing and making wild passionate....well you know what I mean??? to the beautiful groove....

I am an Aussie in our Capital Territory and enjoying fusion dance and music more and more each day....oh to be gifted with the wicked talent that one can create such magical sounds that cause a dancers body to such blessed inspired movement.....
'Tis a welcome relief from some of the crap that I have been subjected to in dance clubs (on the rare occasion that I get out) here....

<sigh> ahhhhh....well, I fear that I must succumb to that temptation once again....

<fee moves off....groove, groove, lock, slide, lock, slide......>
  • Hi, I'm Natalie. I've been dancing ATS for a bit over a year now and I've only recently just discovered Pentaphobe.

*prepares to be flayed with wet noodles*
    • Nooooodullls!

Man. Beer, wet-noodle-flaying... I think my dreams all just came true!
      • actually.

anyone here from LA? where can I go get a nice tribal dose whilst in the town of angels?
        • Hi!

I'm Masika and I've just been dancing for a lil less than a year. I think that ATS will allow me the fluidity I need to express all of the different moves that I've learned the last few years and incorporate it into the freeing dance.

I found the reference to Pentaphobe on The Indigo site and looked up some of his music. I joined this tribe because the music reminds me of other music I think of dancing to when I think about solos and stuff. I've always wanted to dance to Aphex Twin or Squarepusher or Photek...and knowing that there are bellydancers moving to unconventional music makes me feel more comfortable about wanting to move the way I want to.

I'm pretty shy and pretty new here so I don't know many people. I usually just read what I can and try to be a silent observer. But the idea of belly dancing to beautiful synthetic sound....well, there doesn't seem to be a more delicious union than the coupling of natural and unnatural elements...

Sorry....I tend to be wordy... I'll stop but I just wanted to say that I'm glad to be here. :)
          • >> well, there doesn't seem to be a more delicious union than the coupling of natural and unnatural elements...

            yowza! nice sentence :)

            >> Sorry....I tend to be wordy... I'll stop but I just wanted to say that I'm glad to be here. :)

Honey, if your words are always as above, then you can ramble any time.

            Oh. and welcome!

G'day my name is Mic. I have had one year off performing music due to study commitments and I want to dabble once again. I am a multi instrumentalist or should I say simultaneous instramentalist aswell. I specialise in the eastern, african and south american rhythms with a room jam packed with instuments. I began with the doumbek and dahola which I still favour to cut sick on. My current focus over the past 18 months has been Yidaki (didgeridoo) and Berimbau (I am a member or Filhos Da Bahia Capoeria) for traditional use and then my use in the making of organic trance.
Yet it is hard to find fellow musicians who you click with and who want to play the same stuff. That's the hard part. That is also why I have been playing it all myself for the last two years. And it works.
In my day job I am an engineer.
I am also into the circus arts with local troupes.

Email me as I am good for a yarn.

  • It took me a bit but I finally stumbled in here :) I'm Nancy (aka Cymbeline) and I'm from Northern California. I really enjoy the unusual sound of this music, its like nothing I'd ever heard before. I doubt I'll be brave enough to tackle dancing to it for a while but I do like groovin to it here at home.
  • Hilary here. I am not technically a bellydancer but I dance with a freaky fusion group called Shakra. We fuse our influences from our experiences in dance, life, and over developed imaginations, creating a dark alchemy of choreography to hopefully do justice to the music that inspires us. This would be why I am late getting on the crazy Pentaphobe ride. I found Pentaphobe through my beautiful, bellydancing buds Asharah, Maduro (electronic artist/non-bellydancer), and the ROMKA dancers. I would watch any of them dance...well, not Maduro... and at some point I lean over in the set and ask "Who did this song? " The answer was usually Pentaphobe. This happened again last night. So here I am. Glad to be here.
  • Cheers, I'm Astra.

Long time lurker on Tribe.net finally actually getting into the whole... thing, as it were.
Amusingly, it was not through the Indigo that I learned about his music (though, I AM a lover of the Indigo). I found out about him while looking for stuff by Bassnectar, go fig. Either way, I love most sorts of experimental electronic, so hey, here I am!
  • Hello,

My name is Elodie, I'm French :)

I've discovered Pentaphobe in the same time the I've discovered Tribal Fusion. I love both of them for more than one year, now. I think your music is really especial, charming... I love :) and I'm happy to be able to talk with you.
  • Well, My name is SunSamadhi, im from BRAZIL (!!!!!) heheh and i dance. I am always searching for music to do my dance but there is not much options here where i live, so i finded this tribe. Hope people here can help me.

E pra quem é brasileiro aqui... o que eu acho dificil, OLÁ!

    Obrigada e Till then
  • Namaste :)
I feel like Im bringing up the rear here as Im a fairly new 'Penta-phan' having only really gotten into the Tribal style of bellydance in the last year or so. Of course Im impressed with the Indigo's accomplishments, but the music is what really drew me in.....I cant wait to see what else is possible :)

    Lovely to meet you all!
    ~Sunayna :)
  • Got their CD as soon as i heard about them a month or so ago and haven't been able to get enough!! Love listening to it and is great for my tribal b.d. practice!

Hi! My name is Daiva Nati, which is not my real name is sorta American/Sanskrit for Divine Dancer. ; )

I was just geeking out on the internet, somehow (I have no idea) ended up on Amazon.com looking at Bellydance videos (this happens to me, I get lost online) and then, somewhere between then and there, I saw this CD by some dude named Pentaphobe.

Oh My Gawd. Sooooo, I've been looking for this type of music for a looong time! I have even asked my producer friends (okay, so they are mostly psytrance producers) how to find:

"you know, bellydance or tabla beats, with industrial, glitchy type stuff...ethno industrial...like bellydance music with thick, electronic soundscapes"

They each looked at me like I had just asked them to create a song of what it feels like when it is winter and the moon is crying as a flower wilts...

They all told me: It doesn't exist.

I can't wait to prove them wrong! Mwahahaha.

Okay, that's my story. I LOVE YOUR MUSIC. More please.

    Yay!
  • why do i forget there's probably a tribe for everything i'm psyched on??? (3 years late joining here)

I'm Alyssum, and while I tend to be tardy lots of times, if I have enough warning, I can be right on time.

C'mon, Keili, where's the new stuff, weah dahyin ovah heah fer some new toonage! Also, are you still in Australia? Does that mean you get to see Rachel while she's down under?
    • Heheha.. Hello everybody! Welcome! Greetings! Salutations!

I've finished with school for the year - so despite numerous times when I _thought_ i'd be able to spend more time online - I actually can properly now..

...or at least... once ms. brice has left the country.

Um. Alyssum (and anyone else that's asked similar questions) I am attempting to get an answer out of the label as to potentially doing an online release of a single until they're ready to put another of my albums out (I've plenty of material, but unfortunately am not rich enough to risk a lawsuit for breach of contract)

I recommend forwarding an email to any of the upper eschalon (maybe even catch Miles on tribe) telling them that not only would you (a) like to hear more music but (b) think it would be great for me to do a little touring while I'm on school holidays.

Public response always helps with these things. :)

I'd also like to reassure y'awl that my prior post regarding t-shirts and other such fun stuff was not a rouse, or any kind of put-on - but (unfortunately) is also dependent on a response from the label saying "keili, we will not sue you for selling t-shirts with your name on them, nor mugs with your mug - and by the way, your offer of a percentage of sales is appreciated, but respectfully declined... oh and you know all that music you have collecting dust on your hard drive? we want it all to go into a 300 cd set for christmas release"

... okay.. errr.. you get the picture :P
      • oh..

and I keep forgetting to say; if there are any visually inclined people out there that think they have the most amazing idea for a t-shirt, album cover or whatnot - do let me know.

despite being a obsessed with DIY everything, I am always keen to see other's work - maybe Corrie can open up the photo section for members to post any ideas? Then once I have a sec I'll upload my ideas and we can have a vote on which go to print?

        just a thought.

there'll be some kind of reward involved of course.. perhaps a top-secret, once-only pressing of never[to be]released choons or something..

anyhoo - best to all of ye.

It's my birthday this month! please send me abusive emails, photos of random armpits, etc..

any parcel bombs should be forwarded to:

        Pentaphobe
        P.O. Box 361
        Northcote
        VIC 3070, AUSTRALIA

        woo!

oh oh oh... (man, so many things)

send an email to send_me_spam (at) pentaphobe.net and you'll be (silently) registered on a mailing list - you'll get an email back when the new site goes up, and when any other stuff is going on that is worthwhile.

I will [of course] not give out your information to anyone except the other four Illuminati Primi, and promise that you'll never receive unrelated crap from me. Also, if you ever want to unsubscribe - just send an email to renounce_my_faith (at) pentaphobe.net with the words "spiced ham" in the subject heading, and your bank details, social security number(s), date of birth and some kind of note from your doctor.
        • Bah hah hah....

Ok - I shall respond as soon as I can think of something witty.......
Perhaps never. I am simply not as good as you are, Keili.

In the mean time -I shall check the photo album settings and open it up!
          Corrie
        • Hey Keili! Happy Birthday Month! Mine was very recently, too!

We're doing a choreo to So Do in our Tribal class this session so I bought A Tribal Metamorphosis today...glorious goodnesses!

I'll poke through my stuff and see if there's anything you'd like...

          Blessings!
