      Rahh! today; BDSS 3...
      tomorrow the neighborhood!

      .. rad. :)

      *puts on "Market Research Hat"*

I'm making heaps of music again (hence my lack of tribe-ing)
      Sidetrack question:

It seems this one and So Do Cerebral have had the best responses but umm..

for want of a better term: "Any requests?"

      Or constructive criticisms?
A few people have mentioned that the tracks aren't quite long enough - most of them were tailored to Rachel's needs at the time..

wow - scatter brain. long question short:

In and ideal world which musical dark alleys would I spend more time down, and which would I avoid in the future?

I like the heavier stuf with lots of bottom that you can SINK your TEETH into....

        Teltar Apredun is MY FAV!
And when that PHAT guitar starts in I could just die....

        oh.

        um

        sorry.

        excuse me.

          hehehe.

Yes, longer tracks would rock! With mysterious sounds, and more drumming mixed with electronica beats...... indian women singing in an echoing distance.......... oh the possibilities!!!!!

I dance to quite a few of ur tracks but they are over and i only started......

          Murrrp.

Yes, well, longer to a point. I think not more than 4 minutes for a song is good, unless it has a lot of changes and depth, like Teltar Apredun (which clocks in a little over 4 minutes, right?)

I personally LOVE Some Eye. I LOVE the fact that you took an unusual time signature (10/8) and made a dark industrial sounding piece out of it using samples of scraps of metal... Maybe you could do the same to a slow 9/8 (you know, like that song Armut Agaci that the Indigo used on the BDSS tour, but Keili-ized.) If you did your own version of a 9/8, I'd send some uber extra cosmic karma points your way. :) Please oh please oh pleeeeeeeeeeze?

I have an idea for the length of a song. As some of yall know, I compose custom bellydance music and I always get, "can you send me two or three versions of this song ahmed? One that is under 4 minutes, one that is 6 minutes, etc..."

Yay asharah! SomeEye is actually the only track on the album that doesn't embarass the hell outta me :)

oh - and regarding the 9/8 - I've actually made about 20 of 'em since returning to australia. also some sevens, fives (gotta have a five, right?) and a couple slightly more obscure ones including an 18 that rachel and I came up with. (We showed it to Issam on the BDSS tour and I've heard rumours that he's snuck it onto his new album "Wassan Pharaoun")

anyhoo - I'm looking forward to the uber extra cosmic karma!

Extra uber funky fresh cosmic karma heading your way!!

I'd be forever indebted if you put more unusual time signatures on da new album..... 'specially a 9/8. That would just rock my little world.

        you aaaaasked for it!

hmm just keep using those beats and industrializing them! i loooove the ones that have stronger middle eastern feels, like i cash radii, i want LOTS more of that! i wish i knew of some more good middle eastern/indian electronic fusion stuff, but i dont even know where to start looking. so you have to make it for me!

yay! well, so far we seem to be on similar wavelengths :)

I've met up with a bunch of Gypsy instrumentalists here in melbourne, which is - to be frank - fantastic timing.

Ahmed: re: multiple versions of tracks - This is something I've done for the Indigo before (in fact: the observant will note that BDSS performances use quite different edits of the tracks off Sa'iyr) , but it's unfortunately not really a practical approach to an album :(
